Brushed aluminium, Gun Metal finish, two hinged glass doors and four ARGB fans: Cowcotland found the Iron Glass to be a full tower that stays very discreet to the ear. Silver Cowcot.
Two doors, and brushed aluminium
A full tower that takes care of appearances
The Iron Glass is an E-ATX full tower weighing 11.9 kg, offered in a single shade, Gun Metal. Its front carries abrushed aluminium plate; both sides are hinged smoked tempered glass doors, which swing open like shutters to reach the components.
On top, the Power and Reset buttons are aluminium, next to a USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0, one USB 2.0 and the audio jacks. Four 120 mm dual-ring ARGB fans are supplied, driven by a controller hidden behind the motherboard tray and a remote control. Cowcotland also recalls having "loved" the Elite White, tested there before this one.

Against three rivals
Cowcotland measures the noise of every case in the same room, with fans at full speed. On the same set of measurements, the Iron Glass ranks as follows:
G300A : 46.3 dB(A)
SETA D1 : 39.9 dB(A)
M.RED Iron Glass : 36.8 dB(A)
AX-90 : 34.6 dB(A)
The downside is a familiar one: its solid front panel lets in less air than a mesh one. Temperatures remain decent — 70 °C for the processor under load, 72 °C for the graphics card at full speed — but one to three degrees above the best in the comparison, without the gain you would expect from four fans. That's the "almost" in the title.
Pros and cons
What earns it silver
The design — brushed aluminium, Gun Metal, two glass panels. Solid construction with careful finishing. Four fans included. Full equipment: USB-C, controller, remote, graphics card holder. Very prominent lighting. And a very low noise level.
What keeps it from gold
A few omissions for the price: cable routing holes without rubber grommets, welded slot covers with no removable cover supplied, and cooling that is only adequate for want of a front intake.
What Cowcotland says
This new case from MRED blows a little hot and cold.
Aurélien LagnyCowcotland, 7 June 2023 A pleasant surprise: with the remote we're down to 33.1 dBa at minimum, so it's very quiet.
